Are you so focused on earthly achievements, personal success and material possessions that you have forgotten the most important journey of all — your walk with Jesus Christ? In this challenging and thought-provoking sermon, Evangelist Akwasi Awuah draws attention to the importance of humility, gratitude, faithfulness and remaining committed to Christ throughout our spiritual journey. In 1 Corinthians 4:7, the Apostle Paul asks a question that challenges every believer: “For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive?” — 1 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV) Paul reminds the church that everything we possess ultimately comes from God. Our abilities, opportunities, achievements and spiritual gifts should not become reasons for pride or boasting. Instead, they should lead us to gratitude, humility and faithful service to the Lord. The passage also presents a serious challenge to believers: we must not measure our spiritual lives merely by outward success, recognition or worldly status. We must remain faithful to Christ and remember the eternal significance of our choices. 🔥 WHAT YOU WILL LEARN FROM THIS SERMON ✅ Everything Comes From God: Understand why our talents, opportunities and achievements should inspire gratitude rather than pride. ✅ The Danger of Pride: Discover how boasting and self-exaltation can weaken our relationship with God and others. ✅ The Importance of Humility: Learn to acknowledge God's grace in your life and give Him the glory He deserves. ✅ Living With Eternity in View: Be challenged to consider whether your daily decisions reflect your commitment to Jesus Christ. ✅ Faithfulness in the Christian Journey: Understand why following Christ requires perseverance, obedience and spiritual maturity. ✅ The Difference Between Worldly Success and Spiritual Growth: Learn why material achievements alone cannot measure the depth of your relationship with God. ✅ Examining Your Life Before God: Reflect on your motives, priorities and spiritual direction. 📖 KEY SCRIPTURE — 1 CORINTHIANS 4:7–9 1 Corinthians 4:7 — Remember the Source of Your Blessings Paul challenges believers to recognize that what they have received is not a reason for boasting. Everything should point back to the grace and goodness of God. 1 Corinthians 4:8 — The Danger of Self-Sufficiency Paul uses strong, ironic language to challenge the Corinthians' sense of spiritual superiority. His words remind us not to assume that we have already reached spiritual maturity or no longer need correction. 1 Corinthians 4:9 — The Cost of Apostolic Ministry Paul describes the apostles' suffering and humble position as they serve Christ. Their experience reminds believers that faithful Christian service does not always bring earthly recognition, comfort or applause. Together, these verses call us to reject pride, appreciate God's grace and remain faithful even when serving Christ comes with difficulties. 🙏 A PERSONAL CHALLENGE: WHERE IS YOUR LIFE LEADING YOU? Ask yourself these important questions: Do I acknowledge God as the source of my blessings and abilities? Have success, money or recognition made me proud? Am I using my gifts to serve God and other people? Am I pursuing spiritual maturity or merely seeking outward success? Do my daily choices reflect my faith in Jesus Christ? Am I remaining faithful to God even when the journey becomes difficult? Your earthly achievements are temporary, but your relationship with God has eternal significance. Do not allow pride, worldly distractions or the pursuit of recognition to take your attention away from Christ. Live with gratitude, walk in humility, serve faithfully and remain steadfast in the Word of God. The goal is not simply to begin the Christian journey, but to remain faithful to Christ and finish well.
