The Wing Chun Clinch

The Wing Chun clinch, or bridge, is where it all comes together. In boxing, the clinch is a very useful defensive tactic. Well, that's how we can make sense of "bridging" in Wing Chun. We gain control, we tie the guy up, and then utilize whatever tools we need to get the job done. Too many people are missing this component in their training and, therefore, end up trying to chain punch their way through every problem. Worse, they work hard on Chi-Sao skills they figure out how to use.
