Tianhe Road Guangzhou: Walking South China's First Commercial District｜广州天河路：华南第一商圈的城市街景

Filmed on: September 26, 2026 Location: Tianhe Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou, China Tianhe Road runs about 2.8 kilometres from Tianhe Interchange east to Gangding, forming the axis of Guangzhou's largest commercial district. The area covers 4.5 square kilometres with 2.4 million square metres of retail space and a daily footfall of around 1.5 million. It is home to fourteen major shopping complexes including Taikoo Hui, Tianhe City, Grandview Mall, and Parc Central. Thirty years ago this was farmland and fish ponds on the edge of the city; the opening of Tianhe City in 1996 marked the beginning of its transformation. Since 23 September 2026, the Guangzhou International Shopping Festival has been running across the city, with Tianhe district hosting over 150 events.
