Last Friday of October!! That’s gone bloomin’ quick!! What a week, the lads went out with the drain camera on Monday and came back with a nice wee job installing a new 225mm pipe for a client near Wellesbourne. The drain survey showed a fully collapsed and silted drain so replacement was the only option. Nearly 200 metres of 225mm twin wall pipe, and all was just straightforward, no surprises we thought and from what we saw on the camera survey. A wee bit of a surprise when we started our excavations though; one of them there secret chambers that no one knew about. A brick-built chamber with a purpose-built cover and frame, no markings but properly installed at a time when clay tiles and clay pipes were being used so you could estimate about 40+ years ago. Well, the new 225mm inlet pipe is now plastic bringing at least part of it into the 21st Century 😊 Last weekend Boss Man Chris and Brother Paul gave Paul Edmunds a hand crushing a pile of concrete and brick at a local estate. It’s a tidy bit of kit that Cotswold Crushing have and Paul certainly cracks on when he has the bit between his teeth. He has done work for us before and we would have no qualms in recommending him for crushing or concreting works. Dillybob has been a jolly bean this week, no idea why, I do know that he has a bit of a personal vendetta against the Buddleia around the yard. He is on a mission to fill the skip with the stuff. All I can say is that he is going at it as hard as he goes at the biscuit tin when he has a grump on, yes that hard!! That said though, he has been off the biccies ever since Boss Lady Jeanette brought in a big tub of Halloween treats for the lads. Now I am not saying he has given it a pounding but the biscuit tin is still full. Thank you lads for another great week, you did your thing, just cracked on and got it done. I trust you all have some wonderful plans for the weekend and trust you will have a wonderful time carrying them out.
