We're often told that peace comes when we stop explaining ourselves and let go of the need to be understood. But what about the peace that comes from actually understanding ourselves and one another?
In this episode of Make It Make Sense, I explore the difference between wanting to be understood and needing someone else's agreement, approval, or validation.
Not everyone is interested in self-discovery or personal growth, but we all experience frustration, irritation, and misunderstandings in everyday life. What if some of those frustrations could be eased simply by understanding why we naturally think, act, and relate the way we do?
I also share real reflections from participants in my Personal Process Assessment beta testing, including how understanding their natural behavior brought greater clarity, confidence, self-acceptance, and perspective into their relationships.
We'll also look at how replacing judgment with curiosity can change the way we experience ourselves and others.
Because maybe peace isn't about no longer wanting to be understood. Maybe it's about knowing when understanding matters, when to offer it, and when to let go of needing it.
Something to consider: Where in your life might a little more understanding, not necessarily agreement, bring a little more peace?
Different doesn't mean wrong.
