Running Club Visit #9: The Running Club I Couldn't Join | Lynnsport Ladybirds

I've been travelling around King's Lynn and Norfolk visiting running clubs, meeting the people who make them special and showing that there's a place for everyone in our local running community. But for Running Club Visit #9, I've finally found a club I couldn't join! **Lynnsport Ladybirds is a women-only running club**, so this time I had to send in my secret weapon… my wife, Emily! And what an evening she had! Emily headed along to her first Ladybirds session expecting to run around 8.5K. Instead, she ended up running 11K! She recognised a few familiar faces, met some lovely people, pushed herself a little harder than usual and came away absolutely loving the experience. In fact, by the end of the evening, she'd already decided she wanted to become a Lynnsport Ladybird! ❤️ *ABOUT LYNNSPORT LADYBIRDS* Lynnsport Ladybirds is a women's running club based in King's Lynn, Norfolk. The club dates back to 1993, when it originally started as Reebok Running Sisters. That's two years before Emily was even born! Their ethos is fitness, fun and friendship, and they offer different groups to accommodate different abilities, including Jeffing (a mixture of running and walking) and running. I think clubs like this have an incredibly important place in our running community. Running clubs aren't one-size-fits-all. Some people want to improve their times, some want company on their runs, and others simply want a welcoming environment where they can build confidence and make friends. For some women, having a women-only space can make all the difference. And seeing how much Emily enjoyed herself really shows why clubs like Lynnsport Ladybirds matter.
