A Boy Wakes Up With No Memory and a Superhuman Mind, So a Family Takes Him In

Deep in the forest outside Seattle, a teenage boy wakes up naked and covered in slime, with no memory, no past, and not even a name. But when a rattlesnake strikes at him, he catches it mid-lunge with impossible calm. Something is very different about this kid. Arrested for public indecency and taken to a juvenile detention center, he baffles everyone he meets. He has no belly button. He copies everything he sees. And when psychologist Nicole Traeger gives him an hour-long IQ test, he finishes it in five minutes with a perfect score. Nicole brings him home to her family, and the boy they start calling Kyle begins a strange new life. He masters video games in minutes, restores deleted computer files from memory, takes apart a crashed server like a toy, and learns to swim in a single afternoon. But every answer only raises bigger questions. A strange man watches the house from across the street. A security key card found near a murder victim bears a symbol nobody can explain. And under hypnosis, Kyle remembers the one thing he was never supposed to see.
