The Mountains of the Moon Epic is an extraordinary three day cycling and bikepacking adventure covering about 301 km with about 4,330 metres of elevation gain through the spectacular landscapes of western Uganda. The adventure begins with an unforgettable cycling safari in Lake Mburo National Park, where riders explore the African wilderness by bicycle and encounter wildlife in its natural habitat. From there, the journey continues through Uganda's beautiful countryside, rural communities and scenic gravel roads, before riding through the lush tropical landscapes of Kibale Forest, famous for its rich biodiversity and chimpanzees. The journey leads towards Fort Portal, with the majestic Rwenzori Mountains rising in the distance. Known as the Mountains of the Moon, these legendary mountains provide an inspiring backdrop for an adventure that combines physical endurance, natural beauty and authentic cultural encounters.
