This week on HealthCap Weekly Wrap, we explore six developments that could have meaningful implications for senior care providers. We discuss the American Heart Association's first-ever guideline on Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic (CKM) Syndrome and why it reinforces the need for coordinated, whole-person care. We also examine the American Medical Association's decision to fund independent research comparing outcomes across physician-led and advanced practice provider care models, along with a look at how Medicare Advantage is continuing to reshape reimbursement, contracting, documentation, and outcome measurement for providers across the continuum of care. We also take a closer look at ARPA-H's BREATHE initiative and its vision for using smart building technology to improve indoor air quality and reduce respiratory health risks. In addition, we review important guidance regarding residents receiving treatment for opioid use disorder and what operators should know about admissions, care coordination, and compliance responsibilities. Finally, we wrap up with practical sleep recommendations from the Mather Institute and discuss why sleep remains one of the most important, and often overlooked, foundations of healthy aging, resident well-being, and overall quality of life.
