Morning is Undefeated

Brace yourself. The morning is coming. I wrote this song because in 2016, I hated the sunrise. I had it all. The house, the fountain in the driveway, the Tesla, a brand new baby, the adoring wife. And I wanted to push the delete button. And yet every morning the light came through the window anyway. Nobody asked it to. It didn't care how I felt. It didn't care about my dark plan. This song isn't trying to cheer you up. It's bigger and ruder than that. Here is the point: you cannot stop the morning. The dark has had every chance, every night, for more than a trillion nights. Its record so far? Zero wins. The morning is undefeated. The morning doesn't care whether you want it or need it. It's coming regardless. So if you're in a dark place right now, set an alarm for tomorrow's sunrise. Go outside and watch it win. Brace yourself.
