Born premature and diagnosed with cerebral palsy, Marco countered the medical expectations that inevitably placed him in a wheelchair. Today, he trains frequently at the gym and firmly believes any limitation (physical and mental) can be overcome. In an emotional talk, Marco shares how unconditional love, perseverance and strength can change a life. Born premature, at 6 months and 3 weeks, Marco was faced with the biggest and hardest battle of his life: cerebral palsy. Contrary to medical expectations, Marco holds a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, and trains frequently in the gym. He is optimistic by nature, curious and argues that the balance for a good life comes from a strong spirit, capable of overcoming all limitations (physical and mental). For him, the secret of life is people, and he firmly believes that the act of unconditional love can overcome any challenge in life.
