China’s Military Humanoids: Robot Soldiers?

China’s military humanoid robots are moving from demonstrations into military research, procurement, reconnaissance and autonomy experiments. But how close is China to real robot soldiers? We follow Chinese military procurement records, the Fuxi humanoid robot, battlefield training-data systems, military research on combat and autonomy, and the U.S. Army’s parallel humanoid program to separate real capability from viral fiction. China already dominates global humanoid robot manufacturing. But military usefulness is a different question. We investigate where human-shaped machines could actually matter — from hazardous environments and reconnaissance to buildings, trenches and other spaces designed around the human body.
