Road Construction Projects from Accra to the Aflao Border
Road construction and rehabilitation projects are currently transforming major routes across Ghana’s eastern corridor, particularly from the Accra area toward the Aflao border. These projects are aimed at improving transportation, reducing travel time, easing traffic congestion, and strengthening trade and movement between communities along the route.
The Accra–Tema corridor remains one of the country’s most important transport routes, connecting major commercial and industrial areas. Further east, road works extending through communities in the Greater Accra and Volta regions are expected to improve connectivity for residents, businesses, commuters, and travelers heading toward the Ghana–Togo border at Aflao.
The improvements are especially important because the Accra–Aflao corridor is a major link for regional trade and cross-border transportation. Better roads can support businesses, improve access to markets and services, and make the movement of goods and people more efficient.
This video takes a closer look at the road construction activities along the Accra-to-Aflao corridor, highlighting the progress, challenges, traffic situation, and the potential impact these projects could have on communities and Ghana’s economy.
