New Jersey 2026 Home Garden Growing Season

While it's just the first week of September ending and going into Labor Day, most of the exciting blooms have come and now are nearly finishing with the exception of a few. Despite having a few more beautiful green weeks, most is fading and I'm excited to wrap of the most vigorous of the gardening weeks. It began with snow drops. Those white jewel beauties that bring me and many others out of the Winter doldrums. My joy this year is seeing a second flush of lavender on our newly planted lavender border. 💜 Also potted our black and blue salvia that the hummingbirds adore to hover around and drink from the tubular flowers. Thrilled while gardening I came across a Fowlers Toad. They don't mind dry soil and sit just beneath as long as a bit of cool soothesthem. He loved the pets surprisingly.
