14 Golden Age Stars Who Were Actually EVIL

Hollywood's Golden Age sold America heroes: crooners, gentlemen, lovable clowns and cowboys. Behind a few of those smiles were things the studios paid real money to keep quiet. In this video: the actor who killed a man in a fight, served time in San Quentin and later played its warden on screen; the beloved crooner whose eldest son wrote about the beatings; the western swing star whose 14-year-old daughter testified at his murder trial; the smoothest man in Hollywood whose wife testified against him under oath; and a legend whose secret only came out after he died. Some of these stories were proven in court. Others are one person's word. We tell you which is which. Which story changed the way you watch an old movie? Tell us in the comments, and subscribe to Old Hollywood Vaults for more of the stories the studios buried. Note: This is a documentary-style retrospective based on court records, police reports, sworn testimony and published memoirs. Allegations are presented as allegations; several were never tested in court. #oldhollywood #goldenage #classichollywood
