I love opera. I’m just not always patient enough to sit through an entire one. Sometimes, I simply want those few minutes when everything comes alive — the soprano finally lets go, the orchestra surges forward, and the music stops being elegant and starts feeling almost physical. So I made the part I wanted to hear. It begins with a fierce violin, followed by a raw operatic soprano — not polished into perfection, but left with some of that roughness and human force intact. While making it, I kept seeing the same image: An open-air arena. Wind and dust. A restless crowd. A violin already burning through the silence. And then, that moment just before everything erupts.
