Planning Aurie’s 2nd birthday has made us realise that sometimes, even the happiest moments come with difficult decisions. ❤️🥹 As a dad, I want to give my daughter beautiful memories and make her feel special. But at the same time, I have to think about our finances, our responsibilities, and the things we are building for our family’s future. Mum has her own beautiful vision of how big Aurie’s birthday should be, and honestly, I understand her. She wants our little princess to have a memorable celebration. But I also find myself asking, How much should we spend to celebrate one day when there are so many other responsibilities waiting for us? At some point, I even made a speech about almost not doing the birthday at all. Not because I don’t love my daughter, but because being a father means learning to balance the joy of today with the needs of tomorrow. Sometimes, love means giving your family beautiful experiences. Other times, love means making difficult financial decisions, even when they are not popular.
