HOLY SPIRIT, BE MY ADVOCATE! THE HOLY SPIRIT STANDS BY OUR SIDE DURING TRIALS SO THAT HE CAN CLOSELY ADVISE US TO ANSWER CORRECTLY. Where there is case or court, then there is a need for legal representation. The work of an advocate is to argue cases in court in a way that will convince the judge or the Magistrate and to defend their clients by cross-questioning or cross-examining the witnesses. To present facts and truth in order to strengthen their case against the opponents. THE HOLY SPIRIT REPRESENTS US IN THE COURT OF MEN, WHERE EXPERT KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED. When the Holy Spirit comes, He comes as a package. He comes along with all His qualities. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR COMFORTER. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR ADVOCATE. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR HELPER. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR COUNSELOR. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR STRENGTHENER. Luke 12:11-12 AMP [11] When they bring you before the synagogues and the magistrates and the authorities, do not be worried about how you are to defend yourselves or what you are to say; [12] for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say. John 14:13-18 AMP [13] And I will do whatever you ask in My name [as My representative], this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified and celebrated in the Son. [Ex 3:14] [14] If you ask Me anything in My name [as My representative], I will do it. [15] “If you [really] love Me, you will keep and obey My commandments. [16] And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— [17] the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you. [18] “I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, bereaved, and helpless]; I will come [back] to you. Zechariah 3:1-7 AMP [1] Then the guiding angel showed me Joshua the high priest [representing disobedient, sinful Israel] standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at Joshua’s right hand to be his adversary and to accuse him. [2] And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! Even the Lord, who [now and ever] has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is this not a log snatched and rescued from the fire?” [Jude 9] [3] Now Joshua was clothed with filthy (nauseatingly vile) garments and was standing before the Angel [of the Lord]. [4] He spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And He said to Joshua, “See, I have caused your wickedness to be taken away from you, and I will clothe and beautify you with rich robes [of forgiveness].” [5] And I (Zechariah) said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with [rich] garments. And the Angel of the Lord stood by. [6] And the Angel of the Lord [solemnly and earnestly] admonished Joshua, saying, [7] “Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘If you will walk in My ways [that is, remain faithful] and perform My service, then you will also govern My house and have charge of My courts, and I will give you free access [to My presence] among these who are standing here.
