Thanks to Lovaire Hawkins for this suggestion as part of our Suggestion Box over on Patreon! This was such an interesting movie! We had a lottttt to say during and after this one partly because both the main characters, Bear & Nikki, were so hard to read at times. Great concept, two brilliant acting performances from those two. Great watch! Obsession is a 2025 American supernatural horror film written, directed, and edited by Curry Barker. It follows the shop clerk Bear (Michael Johnston), whose friend Nikki (Inde Navarrette) falls dangerously in love with him after he makes a wish. Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter appear in supporting roles. The film was theatrically released in the US on May 15, 2026, and received positive reviews. It grossed $522 million worldwide and set multiple box-office records as the tenth highest-grossing film of 2026 and fifth highest-grossing horror film of all time, unadjusted for inflation.
