The Islamic Conquests: Africa, Spain & the Road to the Crusades

How did an empire born in Arabia reach from Spain to India in under 100 years? And what did it mean for the people who lived through it, especially women and children? 🌍 In this episode, Daddy shows the Islamic conquests of the Middle East, North Africa and Spain: the facts, the achievements, the slavery and the taxes, with sources and without cartoon heroes or villains. At the end we look ahead to the Crusades, the next episode. Early medieval chronicles are often later, partial and written by one side; where sources disagree, the video says so.
