It initially ran from Syedpur in Nilphamari to Dhaka Cantonment Station, later extended to Chilahati and Dhaka Kamalapur. It is one of the fast and luxurious trains of Bangladesh. History: The Nilsagar Express train was launched on 1 December 2007 on the Syedpur route of Nilphamari from Dhaka by the then caretaker government. [1] Although the train was supposed to run from Chilahati, the train started from Syedpur due to the old railway infrastructure of Syedpur-Chilahati. The train finally started running from Chilahati with the official inauguration on 28 January 2015.
