Visual Perception - Making Sense of what we see

In this first video of two, I discuss visual perception: what it is and how children use visual perceptual skills in a classroom situation. I then discuss the seven visual perception skills I test for clinically in practice and how a child struggling with any of them might also struggle in school. The seven vision perception tests are: Visual Discrimination: Matching a design to an identical one facing the same way. Visual Memory: Recalling a previously viewed design. Visual-Spatial Relationships: Identifying a design that differs in its spatial orientation. Visual Form Constancy: Finding a specific form when it changes size, position, or rotation. Visual Sequential Memory: Remembering a series of forms in a specific order. Visual Figure-Ground: Locating a specific design hidden within a complex background.
