Closing the Loop (Part 1) - Farmhouse to Federation Peak and Eastern Arthurs

Early 2024, I shared the idea with friends to “close off” the remaining main trails down in the South West of Tasmania after already completing the South Coast Track back in 2014 and most of the Western Arthurs in 2018. This trip sees Mark and walking in from Farmhouse Creek to Federation Peak and walk the Eastern Arthurs, then onto the remainder of the Western Arthurs and then finally the Port Davey track. We included some contingency time which we would use to complete all or part of the South West Cape, but how much of the Cape we would do, only time would tell. We dubbed the walk “Closing the Loop” – more catchy than closing the sideways U… This is the first of 3 videos. It covers the walk to Federation Peak from Farmhouse Creek, Federation Peak itself, and hiking from Federation Peak north along the Eastern Arthurs. The hike started on the 19th of January 2025.
