Yes. It is one of the better spots in the area thanks to calm water and rock formations at each end of the bay. Where is Playa Ocotal? In Guanacaste, about 10 minutes south of Playas del Coco and 35 minutes from the Liberia airport. What fish can you see at Ocotal? Reef fish including puffers, angelfish and schools of smaller species around the rocks. Do you need a boat to snorkel there? No. You can swim out from the beach to the rocks at either end. Boat trips run to other spots if you want more. When is visibility best? Dry season months are usually clearest.
