UP 1616 heads out to meet with 4014 and BIg Boy's return west! Route 66, Atlanta & Elkhart, IL!

Once done with display at the College World Series, UP 1616, Abraham Lincoln headed east to team up with 4014, Big Boy's trip on east! It moved to the Chicago area on M-CBCH. I caught it at two locations on it's trip. Then on Saturday, I headed to Bloomington, IL where the Big Boy rested overnight to catch it on the move heading west again. First I took up a position along the famed Route 66 just south of Bloomington, IL. It would prove to be a crowd draw and pleaser every step of the route. Once past this location I again took up a position on Route 66 near the town of Atlanta, IL and got a great clear view there! I then moved on to the town of Elkhart, IL and got positioned there for his passing by. This territory was upgraded for Amtrak to a maximum 110 mph!! Before Big Boy passed, Amtrak 301, Lincoln Service went flying past. Not sure how fast but he flew past lol! A good crowd had gathered in town and Big Boy put on a great show as he passed!
