Can a 250cc dual-sport actually be the ultimate long-distance adventure bike? In this video, I’m transforming my 2017 Yamaha WR250R into a lightweight, backcountry-ready adventure rig. After falling in love with riding while living in Mexico, I came back to Canada wanting a light, reliable machine to explore remote coastlines and chase uncrowded surf. Instead of buying a brand-new Honda CRF300L, I picked up this WR250R for its superior adjustable suspension and lightweight frame. Now, it’s time to give it aggressive new knobby tires, a fresh drivetrain setup with low-end tractor torque, and a lightweight saddlebag system to pack my life into. Drop a comment below: Would you take a 250cc bike on a full overland expedition, or are you sticking to big adventure bikes? -------------------------------------------------- 🛠️ PARTS & GEAR USED IN THIS BUILD: • Front Tire: Kenda K270 Dual Purpose Front Tire 3.00-21 • Rear Tire: Kenda K270 Purpose Rear - 4.50-18 • Chain: RK 520 MAX-X X-Ring Chain Natural 110 • Sprockets: JT Self-Cleaning Steel Front Sprocket 13T, JT Steel Rear Sprocket 48T • Luggage System: Rhinowalk Motorcycle Saddle Bags 48L • Air Filter: Twin Air Air Filter • Oil: Motul 7100 Ester 4T Synthetic Oil 10W40 • Bike: 2017 Yamaha WR250R -------------------------------------------------- 📱 FOLLOW THE JOURNEY: • Instagram: @alex_boutilier #YamahaWR250R #DualSport #AdventureMotorcycle #MotoCamping #WR250R #LightweightADV #Overland
