Marin Marias: Les folies d'espagne - Jinho Kim

[Nineteen Project] Marin Marais’ Les Folies d’Espagne, originally composed in D minor for viola da gamba and basso continuo, was later adapted by an anonymous arranger for solo flute in E minor. For this performance, I have taken the solo flute arrangement a step further, transposing it from E minor to G minor and performing it on the recorder. I first met this music as a student standing at the end of my high school years, preparing for an exam that would shape the beginning of what comes next. Yet beyond the pressure of those final months, I am also simply nineteen—a beautiful, fleeting age, standing at the very edge of my teenage years. At nineteen, every moment spent with music feels precious. The joy of playing, the quiet moments of listening, the emotions that arise between one note and the next—perhaps these are the things I will remember long after this season of my life has passed. This video is a record of my encounter with Bach at nineteen.A record of a boy spending the final days of his teenage years, carrying music with him as he steps toward an unknown future. [열아홉 프로젝트] 마랭 마레의 《Les Folies d’Espagne》은 비올라 다 감바와 바소 콘티누오를 위해 D단조로 작곡되었으며, 이후 익명의 편곡자에 의해 독주 플루트를 위한 E단조 버전으로 편곡되었습니다. 이번 연주에서는 독주 플루트 편곡을 한 단계 더 발전시켜, E단조에서 G단조로 전조한 뒤 리코더로 연주합니다. 저는 고등학교의 마지막 시기에, 앞으로의 시작을 결정할 시험을 준비하는 학생으로서 이 음악을 처음 만났습니다. 하지만 그 시험을 앞둔 마지막 몇 달을 보내는 학생인 동시에, 저는 이제 열아홉입니다. 십 대의 마지막 경계에 서 있는, 아름답고도 다시는 돌아오지 않을 나이입니다. 열아홉의 지금, 음악과 함께하는 모든 순간이 소중하게 느껴집니다. 연주하는 기쁨, 조용히 음악을 듣는 순간, 그리고 한 음과 다음 음 사이에서 피어나는 감정들. 어쩌면 지금 이 시기가 지나간 아주 오랜 뒤에도 제가 기억하게 될 것은 바로 이런 순간들일 것입니다. 이 영상은 제가 열아홉의 나이에 만난 마랭 마레를 기록합니다. 십 대의 마지막 날들을 보내며, 음악을 마음에 품은 채 아직 알 수 없는 미래를 향해 걸어가는 한 소년의 기록입니다.
