This isn't just a regular travel vlog; it is a cinematic diary of an emotional road trip that starts from the historic city of Lahore and takes us all the way to the heart of Chichawatni. Along the way, we experienced two completely different yet equally powerful chapters of pure Punjabi spirit—one showcasing unparalleled human integrity, and the other celebrating art, passion, and cultural preservation. Our journey began on the open highway leaving Lahore. A few hours into the drive, we stopped by the roadside to buy a small item worth a mere 20 rupees from an elderly gentleman (Baba Ji). In the rush of the moment, I made a massive mistake and accidentally handed him a 5,000 rupee note instead of a small bill. Completely unaware of what I had done, we jumped back into our car and accelerated down the road. Looking back at the rearview mirror a minute later, I was stunned to see Baba Ji sprinting down the hot asphalt behind our moving car, frantically waving his arms. I immediately slammed on the brakes. Gasping for air from the extreme physical exertion, Baba Ji reached our window and proudly handed back the 5,000 rupee note. He explained the mistake with absolute sincerity, took his rightful 20 rupees, and walked back. In today’s world, where everyday survival is a brutal struggle, 5,000 rupees is a significant amount for a humble roadside vendor. He could have easily kept it, but his unwavering conscience wouldn't allow it. In a beautiful twist of fate, we crossed paths with him again later that day. It felt like a divine second chance to express our gratitude, so we stopped, bought a large quantity of his items, and gave him extra financial support to honor his incredible honesty. The second chapter of our vlog unfolds as we finally arrived in Chichawatni to meet the widely celebrated digital creator and filmmaker, Javed Khaliq. Known globally—especially among Indian Punjabi artists—Javed Bhai masterfully paints the soul, hospitality, and vibrant colors of rural Punjab through his lens. His creative brilliance is heavily acclaimed; he recently secured 2nd Position in the Short Film Competition and 1st Position in the Reels Category at major media conferences by introducing fresh, soulful ideas that breathe life into age-old traditions. The ultimate highlight of our visit was an exclusive tour of his ambitious dream project—Dera Javed Khaliq. He is currently constructing a massive, entirely traditional Mud House Farmhouse. Stepping onto the grounds, we were instantly hit by the breathtaking, nostalgic aroma of the wet earth (Mitti ki Khushboo). Constructed entirely out of mud and organic materials, the structure feels like a living museum of our heritage. Javed Bhai passionately shared his magnificent vision for the Dera. Once completed, he plans to open its doors as an educational workshop and cultural retreat for students from various universities. His goal is to create a physical bridge that connects the younger, tech-dependent generation back to nature and their authentic roots. He also showed us his detailed agricultural layout for growing traditional seasonal crops and completely organic vegetables, offering a holistic learning experience about sustainable living.
