The backup plan for when the getaway goes wrong. If your horse gets spooked, shot, or lost during the train robbery, you're not stuck on foot — head to the nearest road, wait for a traveler, and take their horse. This is the alternative exit for the Ambarino tunnel job: there's a road running right next to the tunnel, and it's almost never empty. One rider comes along, you pull them down, and you ride out on a fresh horse like nothing happened. A few notes on pulling it off: • Pick the road closest to the tunnel exit — less time exposed on foot, and traffic is steady. • Wait for a lone rider, not a group — fewer witnesses, less chance of a fight that draws law. • Once you're mounted, ride out of Ambarino fast — that's still the only state hunting you for the robbery. • It costs you honor, but it beats losing the whole haul because you had no ride.
