This pre-event webinar sets the stage for the Workshop to Advance Drought Early Warning Communication for the Nation (convened by NOAA’s National Integrated Drought Information System—NIDIS and the Natural Hazards Center at the University of Colorado Boulder). Designed as a catalyst before our in-person sessions in Boulder, this webinar introduces core physical drought monitoring products, general risk communication theory, and active operational case studies to generate ideas and provide framing ahead of our interactive mini-design sprints.
