Did Ninjas Actually Exist?

In 1853, the last ninja in Japan snuck onto an American warship… and came back with two loaves of bread. So did ninjas actually exist? Yes, but almost nothing you picture when you hear the word ninja is real. Follow one family from a poor mountain valley in Iga across three hundred years: farmers who took dangerous jobs in hungry years, survived the Demon King's invasion, guided a future ruler home through the mountains, guarded a castle gate that still carries their commander's name, and ended up on the deck of an American warship. Along the way you'll find out where the black ninja costume really came from, why the word ninja is younger than the airplane, and what was written on a mysterious slip of paper from 1853.
