Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophies With Dr. Teerin Liewluck

Limb-girdle muscular dystrophies (LGMDs) encompass a group of genetically heterogeneous skeletal muscle disorders. There has been an explosion of newly identified LGMD subtypes in the past decade, and results from preclinical studies and early-stage clinical trials of genetic therapies are promising for future disease-specific treatments. In this episode, Gordon Smith, MD, FAAN, speaks with Teerin Liewluck, MD, FAAN, FANA, author of the article “Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophies” in the Continuum® October 2025 Muscle and Neuromuscular Junction Disorders issue.
