300KG Nigeria to Canada 🇨🇦 || We Thought Shipping By Sea Would Save Us Money… WE WERE WRONG 😭💸

“If you’re planning to send cargo from Nigeria to Canada, PLEASE watch this video before you do it. We sent almost 300kg of our belongings from Lagos thinking we had found a cheaper way to get our things to Edmonton… but what happened after the cargo arrived in Canada cost us WAY more money than we expected. And yes… some of our things even ended up going back to Nigeria!” We sent our belongings from Lagos by sea in January, thinking the shipment would eventually make its way to Edmonton, Canada. We initially paid almost ₦500,000 to ship the cargo by sea. But when the cargo arrived in Canada, we discovered that it had only been brought to Ontario — meaning we still had to figure out how to get almost 300kg of belongings from Ontario to Edmonton. And the additional cost? About $1,500 CAD! 😭💸 There were also additional customs clearance costs in Canada, and at one point, some of our cargo was even returned to Nigeria. What was supposed to be a cheaper way of moving our belongings to Canada became a huge financial burden and a very stressful experience.
