“Is it My Way that is Unfair?”

A Reflection on the Scripture Readings for the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time. September 27, 2026. Reading 1: Ezekiel 18:25-28 — "Is it my way that is unfair? Is it not your ways that are unfair?" Psalm: Ps 25:4-9 — "Remember your mercies, O Lord" Reading 2: Philippians 2:1-11 — "Do nothing out of selfishness or vainglory; regard others as more important than yourselves" Gospel: Matthew 21:28-32 — Parable of the Two Sons; "yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds" Theme: Our ways are unfair because our ways have no mercy — our algorithm has no "variable" for the grace of God, for the free gift given through the merit of Christ to those who are still sinners.
