Brown Trouser Lane

This is Brown Trouser Lane over in the Dee Valley. It's not a particularly technical name, and a good ascent to the ridge above Llangollen. BTL gets it's name from the fact it is quite slippy, very narrow and towards the top, it it has a steep drop off to the left. The exit at the top is also awkward and very narrow, and the adverse camber pushes you towards the drop. If you mess it up, you will tumble some 300ft into the A5 below. There are places, especially in wet conditions, you may want to anchor your vehicle to a tree should you need to stop. I have been advised on several occasions, not to drive this lane alone for safety reasons. It would be hypocritical of me to suggest you do the same, given that I drove it alone today. Those of you who have driven some of the lanes shown on my videos will know that the video seems to flatten things out, and make them look easier, less steep and so on.
