Most RPGs treat morality like a simple slider—press blue to be a saint, or press red to be a maniac. Looking at The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game's most famous rule is choosing the "Lesser Evil."
But what happens if you aren't allowed to calculate the math? Today, we are putting 18th-century German philosopher Immanuel Kant in control of Geralt of Rivia to survive Velen's darkest storyline—The Bloody Baron ("Family Matters" & "Ladies of the Wood")—while strictly obeying Kant’s Categorical Imperative:
1. Never lie (not even to save a life).
2. Never use a human being or conscious mind merely as a tool.
3. Consequences do not matter—duty is absolute.
Did Kantian ethics turn Geralt into a knight in shining armor, or did it burn Velen to the ground? Let's find out.
