Ignaz Friedman's recording of Weber's 'Invitation to the Dance', recorded at two of his three final sessions for Columbia on November 23, 1936 and December 2, 1936. This marvellous transfer by Tom Jardine (to whom all thanks) helps us appreciate the pianist's robust sonority, refined tonal and dynamic shadings, elegant phrasing, magical pedalling, and rhythmic vitality.
