Kittiwake Uncut! Oak & Ash & Thorn - White Horse - Oxford Folk Festival 2026

This is our dance ‘Oak and Ash and Thorn’. Written during summer 2023 by Matthew Keegan-Phipps for collaboration with Bristol Folk House Choir. Originally a poem written by Rudyard Kipling in Puck of Pook’s Hill where some children perform Midsummer’s Night’s Dream on midsummer’s night summoning Puck who arrives with the cry of “oak, ash and thorn” to tell them history and stories of merry England.
