✈ Trip Review
Hello everyone!
Today, I’m back with another fantastic flight experience! This time again with TUI Airways, flying from Skiathos back to London Gatwick. Starting off at Skiathos Airport, I was pleasantly surprised. For such a small island, about a quarter the size of Kefalonia, the airport was modern, efficient, and well-sized for its scale. Bag drop was quick and easy, and security was a breeze, with minimal queues and a straightforward process. Now, one thing I’ve noticed with many island airports (except Kefalonia) is that boarding often involves a bus transfer, which isn’t the most comfortable, especially when it’s packed with nowhere to sit. That was the case again today. While it slows things down a bit, I understand why it’s necessary—our aircraft was parked on the far side of the airport, so walking wouldn’t have been practical. Once onboard, TUI’s seats were a welcome comfort. The legroom was excellent—something you really appreciate on these medium-haul flights. As someone who usually flies with easyJet (mainly because they offer great flexibility and frequent flights to Greece from Gatwick), I wasn’t sure what to expect with TUI. But honestly? TUI exceeded my expectations.
The flight was on time, which was refreshing, especially when you compare it to the occasional delays I’ve experienced with easyJet. I originally chose TUI simply because easyJet doesn’t fly to Skiathos, and TUI was the only reliable option from Gatwick. But after this flight, I’d definitely consider flying with them again—even if it’s not my usual go-to airline. It was also great to be back on a Boeing 737 after quite a while. A solid aircraft and a smooth ride. Landing into Gatwick was soft and the taxi in was fairly quick—always a bonus when you’re eager to get back to the UK!
Thanks so much for watching! I hope you enjoyed this trip report, and if you’re considering flying TUI, I’d happily recommend them based on this experience. Don’t forget to like and subscribe for more flight reviews and travel content!
