Jesus Said WAIT… And It Changed Everything (Upper Room Sermon)

What if the breakthrough you’re chasing can only come after you learn to wait? In this message from The Upper Room series, we explore Jesus’ command in Acts 1:4–14 and the power of Pentecost in Acts 2. Before the Church moved, Jesus told them to wait for the Holy Spirit—and that waiting changed everything. Too often we rush into action without dependence on God. But the truth is: the Church was never meant to be powered by human effort—it is birthed and empowered by the Holy Spirit. In this sermon, you’ll learn: Why waiting is essential before spiritual breakthrough What really happened in the Upper Room How the Holy Spirit empowers your life today Why you may feel stuck spiritually How to move from striving to Spirit-led living Before Jesus sends you to work, He teaches you to wait. If you’ve been feeling rushed, stuck, or spiritually dry, this message will challenge and encourage you to depend on the Holy Spirit like never before. 👍 Like, Comment, and Subscribe for more messages 0:00 Welcome and introductions 1:57 Understanding the book of Acts 4:20 The transition to the Spirit 7:22 The metaphor of the cup 11:11 Waiting in the upper room 13:54 Kingdom versus politics 19:19 The arrival of Pentecost 23:24 Peter’s transformation 26:58 The fuel of the Holy Spirit 34:05 Experiencing the Holy Spirit 40:43 Full immersion in the Spirit 45:41 Call to prayer and communion
