It's Official...

The Rangers signed Luke Glendening to a professional tryout on Monday after Joe Veleno went down with a lower-body injury on October 4, and the loudest take is that he is the perfect fourth line center. Glendening is 37, has a career high of 23 points and was never drafted, so the fit is not about scoring. It is about the penalty kill, a 55.6 percent career faceoff rate and a 92nd-percentile max skating speed, the same traits Veleno gave the bottom six. This video follows his path from Michigan captain to a one-year two-way deal with Detroit in 2013 to six NHL clubs, and gives an opinion on what it means for Beaudoin, Dowling and the Rangers' goalie situation. Sullivan's comments were reported by Vincent Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic. — SOURCES — Luke Glendening career overview (college, undrafted status, July 5, 2013 signing, teams, 934 games): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_Gl...
