Tom Spall, Co-owner of Shamrock Heating and Cooling, has spent more than 40 years in the HVAC industry building businesses around technical expertise, customer service, and strong core values. Early in his career, Tom was working 80 to 90 hours a week while underpricing his services. Learning how to price properly and run a sustainable business changed the direction of his career.
Tom learned that technical mastery alone was not enough to build a successful HVAC business. By focusing on the customer, solving the real problem instead of applying a Band-Aid, and giving customers informed options, he built an approach centered on integrity, innovation, reliability, and care.
This episode explores how HVAC and service business owners can build stronger companies through better pricing, holistic problem solving, customer service, hiring, and employee development. Tom also shares why Shamrock hires for attitude and trains for skill, how his team developed its core values through real customer stories, and why creating wins for employees and customers ultimately creates a win for the company.
