Reacting to BOYNEXTDOOR - HOME, and this being their first full-length album made the whole listen feel like a big moment. This project felt personal, bright, emotional, playful, and reflective all at once. It really gave that feeling of a group looking back at where they started, where they are now, and what “home” means to them after everything they have experienced.
What stood out to me most was how much this album feels like BOYNEXTDOOR telling their own story. “06070” opens the album in a way that feels connected to their journey before debut, while “VIRAL” brings that bigger title track energy with a message about wanting their music to reach more people. It feels like a love song on the surface, but it also carries that artist perspective of hoping something you made can travel far and connect with somebody.
“Ddok Ddok Ddok” was such a cool piece of the album because it taps into the group’s whole “next door” concept. The knocking sound, the playful energy, and the way it connects back to the group’s identity made it feel very BOYNEXTDOOR. It is one of those tracks where the personality is right in the front, and that is something I have appreciated about them.
The rest of the album gives a lot of different colors too. “ADIOS!” feels like moving forward and letting go, “Upside Down” has that feeling of wanting to live without regrets, “DIVE” leans into being pulled deep into love, and “Forever You” brings a more heartfelt message connected to family and memory. Then “I Wonder” closes things with that fan-focused warmth, making the album feel like it is not just about home as a place, but home as people, memories, and the ones who stay with you.
Overall, HOME felt like a meaningful first full album for BOYNEXTDOOR. It had the catchy, playful personality that makes them stand out, but it also had heart, reflection, and a sense of maturity. This album felt like them opening the door a little wider and letting us understand more of who they are.
