Wished for Me

“Wished for Me” began as a poem I wrote in 1992 titled “Image Man.” More than thirty years later, I returned to those words and gave them a new form as a song. The original poem explored the idea of imagining someone before ever knowing who they would be—the hope that somewhere there might be a person who fit the heart already waiting for them. Years have passed since I first put that thought on paper, and time has given those words a different perspective. What began as a young writer imagining love has become a song looking back at the possibility that perhaps, long before two lives ever meet, each may already be wishing for the other.
