When You Know God but You’re Tired of Hurting | Christian Motivation 🙏 Welcome to Elevate Motivations There are days when you still believe in God, still pray, and still love Jesus—but you're simply tired of hurting. Psalm 42 gives us permission to acknowledge that reality. The psalmist's soul is cast down, yet he continues to say, “Hope in God.” In this message, we look at El Roi—the God who sees—and consider what it means to bring our weakness, questions, exhaustion, and unanswered prayers honestly before Him. Being tired of hurting is not the same as being tired of God. If your heart has been weary, may this message help you remember that faith does not require pretending. A tired heart can still hope in God. You know the families behind these names, the burdens behind these comments, and the prayers that haven't been written yet. You know those who are exhausted from pain that has lasted longer than they expected. You know those who are discouraged, those carrying burdens they cannot explain, and those asking questions they don't know how to answer. Father, for those who need strength for another day, meet them in their weakness. Give rest to the weary, wisdom to those who don't know what to do, comfort to those who are grieving, and courage to those who are struggling to continue. Give them trustworthy people who will listen, pray, encourage, and help when help is needed. Lord, thank You that You are El Roi, the God who sees. When we feel overlooked, remind us that nothing about our lives is hidden from You. When we are confused, keep us from believing that confusion means You have abandoned us. When our strength is small, teach us to depend upon Yours. Help us speak honestly to our souls, as the psalmist did: “Why are you cast down, O my soul?” And then turn our hearts toward You: “Hope in God.” We don't ask You to make every difficult thing disappear immediately. We ask for Your presence, Your wisdom, Your comfort, and Your sustaining grace. Father, You know every person in this community. You know what each family is carrying. Teach us to pray for one another sincerely. Help us notice the hurting, listen without judgment, and point one another toward Jesus. And Father, we especially lift up Eric Varney and his family. You know the sickness affecting his daughter and his wife. Please bring healing according to Your will, and give them comfort, wisdom, strength, and grace for each day. Surround their family with people who will stand beside them and help carry what feels too heavy. We place our unanswered questions before You. We place our weariness before You. We place the things we cannot fix into Your hands. And we choose to place our hope in You—not because we know exactly what tomorrow will bring, but because You are our God. Thank You for seeing us. Give us grace for today and strength for tomorrow. Help us keep our eyes on Jesus and care faithfully for the people around us.
