When I recently found Bicycle playing cards at Dollar Tree for just $1.25 a pack, naturally I added a set to my basket. In this video, I show how I used Dollar Tree sandpaper to distress some of the cards and Dollar Tree acrylic stamps to stamp designs on some for my journals.
Truthfully, I don't enjoy the sanding part much since it creates a lot of dust, but I did have fun altering some cards to use in journals. I also altered one card from a Spanish English flash card set, also a Dollar Tree item. In this video, I mainly focused on the sanding and stamping part, but there are lots of other ways to jazz up playing cards, flash cards, or other game cards.
My suggestions for ways to use the altered playing cards include as pockets, flips, tabs, tags, journal cards, and pocket stuffing options. Let me know if you like the idea of embellished/altered playing cards and the ways you would use them in your journals.
Thank you so much for watching.
Disclaimer: I am not sponsored by Dollar Tree, although it may sound like it sometimes. I just like the crafting items and other items from the store and enjoy using them in my journal making.
