Dame Myra Hess recorded only three works by Debussy in her 30 years of producing discs, and these were at her third ever recording session. On February 17, 1928 she set down accounts of Poissons d'or, La fille aux cheveux de lin, and Minstrels, which would be issued on the same American Columbia disc. Tom Jardine's stunning transfers presented here allow us to appreciate the glorious playing in these rare discs of the legendary British pianist more than ever before. What gorgeous tonal colours, skillful pedalling, and refined dynamic control. All of Dame Myra Hess' studio solo and concerto recordings are available on a highly-recommended 5-disc set on the APR label: https://www.prestomusic.com/classical...
