Martin Potter Profile - 1987

A video profile from TV in the late 1980's. Martin Potter was known as "part owner and bouncer at the big boys club, where there is no first among equals, just a higher level of respect and money" (Derek Hynd). Up to this point he was considered a great free surfer and only a good contest surfer, with a string of tour finishes at the edge of the top 5. He would go on to dominate the world tour in 1989 and win the World Title that year (at least that's what Joe Turpel told me). This video is posted to document surfing history and not for any profit.
