Open D# tuning (same as open D but a half step higher) I'm playing a Gibson L3 from 1925 Josh White version (when he was still fingerpicking)    • Good Gal   Josh White severely injured his hand in February 1936, when he punched his left (chording) hand through a glass door during a bar fight.The injury became infected with gangrene, and while doctors narrowly saved it from amputation, his fingers were left immobile.The Impact: The damage forced White to retreat from his music career. He took odd jobs, such as working as an elevator operator, longshoreman, and building superintendent. During this time, he practiced squeezing a rubber ball to regain dexterity.The Return: By 1939, White returned to New York with a modified, less rapid, but more dramatic guitar style. #acousticblues #fingerpicking #daddystovepipe
