Layne Staley's TRAGIC Final Years Behind a Locked Door

In July 1996, Layne Staley walked off a stage in Kansas City and never played another concert. For the next six years, the voice of Alice in Chains almost vanished inside a condo in Seattle's University District. His band never broke up, his friends kept calling, and his mother kept coming back. This is the story of those years, told in his own earlier words and by the people who tried to reach him, ending on the fund his mother built for people still fighting addiction.
